Follow Me is a feature that allows you to customize how you want calls to be handled for certain extensions.

This can be used to ring to multiple different extensions or external numbers, or forward the call, instead of ringing to the extension originally called.

To access the Follow Me page, do the following:

  1. Login to your PBX Admin Portal.
    • i.e. customer.freevociepbx.com/maint
      (replace customer with your system's actual subdomain)
  2. Go to PBX > PBX Setup > Follow Me.


From here you can click on an extension on the right-side of the screen to edit/delete the Follow Me settings for. Follow Me settings for the extension are inactive by default.

Checking the Disable box will prevent this extension's Follow Me from being used.
However, destinations that specify Follow Mes to be used will still come here.

Setting the Initial Ring Time tells the Follow Me how long it will ring to the primary extension before calling the assigned members of the Follow Me List. This setting only applies to "Ring Primary, then Ring List" Ring Strategy.

Select the way you would like all the assigned members of the Follow Me List to be rang.
Then select the amount of time in seconds that you would have it ring for.


Follow Me List




This section allows you to choose which extensions or external numbers you want to ring, while the call is received by the Follow Me extension.

If "Ring Primary, then Ring List" Ring Strategy is configured, this list will ring after the Initial Ring Time.

If any other Ring Strategy is configured, it will ring just the extensions and external numbers within the list (keep in mind, if you do not include the Follow Me extension within this list, it will not ring that extension when the call is received).

Adding and Removing Members

To Add members to the Follow Me List, do the following:

  1. Select and highlight in blue any Extensions within the Available Extensions list,
    or enter any 10-digit External Numbers in the field below (digits only, no punctuation or spaces).
  2. Click Add.

To Remove members from the Follow Me List, do the following:

  1. Select and highlight in blue any Extensions and/or External Numbers within the Assigned Members list.
  2. Click Remove.


You can set an audio recording to be played to the caller before calling the assigned members of the Follow Me List via the Announcement drop box.

Play Music On Hold allows you to choose if you want it to play Music On Hold or have normal ringing.

You can add a CallerID Name Prefix that will show before the CID when assigned members are called.

Alert Info is an option to include alert info which can create distinctive rings on SIP phones.

Checking the Confirm Calls box will prompt any external number to press 1 on their phone, before a call is put through.

Remote Announce allows an audio recording to be played to an external number when receiving a call while Confirmed Calls is enabled.

Too-Late Announce allows an audio recording to be played to an external number if they press 1 too late and Confirmed Calls is enabled.


Change External CID Configuration


Mode is where you can define what CID will be shown for the assigned members of the Follow Me List.
Fixed CID Value is where you can define a Fixed CID for the Fixed CID modes.


Destination if no answer




This is where you can define where the call will go if the assigned members of the Follow Me List do not answer.



Save any changes made. (using S.A.C - Submit Changes, Apply Configuration Changes, Continue Reload)
